Frederick M. Fenetti was born in 1854 in St. John, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Canada, and died in 1915 in Brookline, Massachusetts.  He is known for his delicately rendered and softly lit still-lifes, many of which incorporate freshly bloomed flowers picked at their peak.

Living in Boston, Fenetti exhibited extensively at the Boston Art Club, the National Academy of Design in New York City, the Poland Springs Art Gallery in Maine, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. The artist often utilized different signatures, including F. Fenetty, F. Fenety, and F. Fenetti.
